Rick Ross has made his stance on Drake‘s latest musical output crystal clear. In a recent appearance on the PBD Podcast, the Miami rap mogul did not mince words when discussing the Toronto artist’s new album, Iceman, describing the project as “horrendous.”
During the interview, which took place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Ross was asked to weigh in on the new LP. Rather than offering a diplomatic response, the “Hustlin'” rapper doubled down on his ongoing friction with the OVO leader. Ross suggested that the current tension between the two, which has involved legal maneuvering against Universal Music Group, stems from an inability to handle professional and personal pressure.
“When you diss certain people and they can’t deal with it emotionally, they’re embarrassed,” Ross remarked. “They’re humiliated. That’s when they sue all of these people.”
Beyond the business disputes, Ross took aim at the artistic direction of the album. He claimed to have listened to several tracks and found the experience underwhelming. He specifically targeted Drake‘s singing, offering a mocking impression of the vocal style found on the record. “It was like, ‘No one’s my friend/You left me alone,'” Ross said, jokingly crooning the lyrics. “It’s that type of sh*t. You gotta be a boss out here, man.”
Ross further detailed the reaction of his inner circle to the project. “I had people that listened to [Iceman],” he continued. “By the fifth song, they came out, they was like, ‘Damn, this sh*t wack.’ Then they went back in and listened to it. I’m like, it’s not nothing that’s dope… This a muthaf**ka who always bringing up Michael Jackson. Where the ‘Billy Jean’ at? Where the ‘Thriller?’ My homies actually sat there and they lost an hour of their life for this sh*t.”
These comments follow previous social media posts where Ross labeled the album “mid” immediately upon its release. The critique highlights the deepening divide between the two former collaborators, as Ross continues to position himself as a critic of the current state of Drake‘s discography.
