South Bronx, New York emcee Seth Narley has returned with his latest project, Prada Cups in the South of France. Marking the 10th entry in his prolific discography, this new extended play continues the momentum established by his previous 2024 releases, including Night at the Roxy, A Millbrook Story, and S.A.L.Y. (Still Ain’t Lie Yet). Following the thematic depth of The American Dream: Son of a Dealer and Oceans: Mondrian, this latest effort finds Narley refining his signature sound.

The EP opens with “Jordan on the Baseline,” a soulfully jazzy track that clocks in at 109 seconds, featuring Narley drawing parallels between his own journey and that of his favorite basketball icon. The project maintains this momentum with “$2K on the Knicks,” where a crisp gospel sample provides the backdrop for Narley’s reflections on his home team’s NBA playoff run and the instincts that drive his decision-making.

As the project transitions into its second half, the tone shifts toward deeper introspection. “Unplugged from Marsielle” stands out as a poignant highlight, with Narley addressing the loss of his brother over a stark, drumless loop. The EP concludes with “Celia Cruz & Gloria Estefan,” a track that leans into a jazz-influenced aesthetic while Narley discusses his personal and professional growth, specifically touching on his aspirations for financial success.

The production throughout the project, handled by Creestal, relies heavily on drumless sampling techniques that span the spectrum of jazz and soul. This minimalist approach allows Narley’s lyricism to take center stage, creating a cohesive atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. The project serves as a testament to Narley’s ability to evolve his craft while staying true to the gritty, authentic roots of his South Bronx upbringing.
