The landscape of digital content creation and hip-hop culture continues to blur as DDG has officially applied to Soulja Boy‘s Rapper University. This pivot comes shortly after the rapper-streamer was notably absent from the roster of Kai Cenat‘s Streamer University 2026.
On Monday, July 6, Kai Cenat concluded his nearly year-long hiatus to reveal the accepted members for his latest project, a massive cohort featuring over 100 content creators and artists. The exclusion of DDG, who served as a faculty member during the inaugural session last year, appears to have prompted a swift reaction. Following the snub, DDG took to his livestream to sign up for Big Draco’s alternative educational venture, while also expressing his frustration on social media, noting, “Stream tmmw, im finna drink my pain away.”
This development is particularly ironic given DDG’s previous public criticism of the initiative. When Soulja Boy first announced the launch of Rapper University—a move widely interpreted as a response to his own exclusion from Cenat’s program—DDG was quick to dismiss the concept. “I guarantee you, nobody coming to this sh*t, boy,” DDG stated during a livestream last month. “Not one person. We don’t want to learn sh*t from you. You ain’t had a hit since I was 10, ni**a. What the f**k we wanna learn from you?”
Despite the public posturing, the future of the program remains uncertain. On Wednesday, July 8, Soulja Boy announced that he is postponing Rapper University until further notice, citing an overwhelming volume of applications that exceeded expectations.
