This is not a drill. Playboi Carti has returned with some new heat.
On Thursday (April 16), Carti released a new record, "@ Meh." The surprise track is the first song Carti has dropped in two years. "@ Meh," produced by Neeko Baby, Deskhop and Jetsonmade, is also the Atlanta rapper's first record to appear on streaming services since his debut studio album, Die Lit. While it is still unclear when Carti will drop his sophomore album, Whole Lotta Red, the song is just a dose of what fans can possibly expect from the album. The LP has yet to be given an official release date, but has been teased by Carti and rappers like Drake on social media over the last couple of weeks.
Playboi Carti announced the record to his fans on Twitter just after 12pm on Thursday. "@ meh ! out now !" he wrote. Just one day prior, the rapper tweeted, "i Kant wait" and "4vr . Lit," which could have alluded to the release.
"Them pussy ass niggas ain't 'bout that shit/I ride with the choppa the stick, yeah/These bitches ready to kill, yeah/My niggas, they ready to drill, yeah (OK)/I got niggas in Riverdale (OK)/My young niggas they came from hell (OK)," Carti raps on the beginning of the track.
On Tuesday (April 14), Carti released the cover art for an undisclosed project. The blue artwork started a frenzy for fans who have been craving new music from the rapper ever since he announced that his album was on the way during a show in Milwaukee back in July of 2019.
