Hip-Hop superstar Drake has teamed up with Live Nation Canada officials to launch an intimate new concert venue in his Toronto hometown.
The “God’s Plan” hitmaker has helped to develop History, a 2,500-capacity event space which aims to play host to 200 concerts a year and offer music fans a more up close and personal experience with their favorite acts.

“Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History,” Drake shared in a statement. “I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans.”
Live Nation Entertainment President and CEO Michael Rapino says: “We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible.”
And Live Nation Canada Chairman Riley O’Connor adds, “History will offer guests up-close experiences with their favorite artists that are unrivaled in Toronto. We take pride in and expect History to become an important part of the community.”
Construction on History, which has been in development for more than three years, is expected to be completed this summer, and the space is due to open later this year.
