Miami-based Nigerian-American artist Miné is redefining modern pop and R&B with her latest single, “Crave“. The track goes into the universal yearning for authentic connection in a world increasingly dominated by surface-level relationships.
Raised between Lagos, Nigeria, and Baltimore, Maryland, Miné’s multicultural upbringing has shaped her sound into something truly unique. Her music seamlessly bridges vibrant Afrobeats with the emotional depth of Western genres like pop and rock. “Crave” continues this tradition, pairing smooth R&B grooves with lyrics that explore the vulnerability of longing to be desired.
Miné describes the inspiration behind the track: “‘Crave’ is about wanting to be craved by someone—not for superficial reasons but for something deeper. It feels like genuine connection is harder to find these days, and this song reflects that desire for intimacy beyond instant gratification.”
Miné’s artistic journey is as inspiring as her music. A graduate of Cornell University with degrees in Economics and Business Strategy—and an additional Master’s from Kaeio University in Japan—she brings a global perspective to her craft. Her time spent in Japan further influenced her creativity, leading her to incorporate Japanese phrases into previous works like “Born, Not Raised.” As a polyglot fluent in Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, Miné uses language as an extension of her artistry, weaving cultural elements into songs that transcend borders.
Inspired by powerhouse artists like Doja Cat, Miné aims to embody versatility and charisma in her performances while staying true to her own voice. With “Crave,” she takes a bold step forward in carving out her space in the music industry—a space defined by authenticity and emotional depth.
