Tory Lanez Stabbed in Prison

On Monday (May 12), TMZ broke the news that Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, got into an altercation with another inmate where the rapper suffered a nasty injury after being stabbed. Tory is currently being housed at California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi, Calif. The incident reportedly happened on the yard. The motivation for the attack has not been released.

The rapper was taken to a hospital in Bakersfield, Calif. The Shade Room reports that a member of the rapper’s team confirmed that Tory was stabbed and is currently in critical condition.

The incident comes three days after Tory shared a new prison photo and announced he would be coming out with new music later this year.

XXL has reached out to Tory Lanez’s attorney and the California Correctional Institution for comment.

Tory is currently serving a 10-year sentence after being found guilty in December of 2022 of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. He is also involved in a civil case surrounding Megan Thee Stallion, who sued blogger Milagro Gramz for defamation last year, claiming that Gramz and Lanez colluded to harass Megan following the case.

Lanez was recently deposed for the lawsuit. However, the rapper was so uncooperative that the judge has ordered Tory to explain why he shouldn’t be held in contempt of court.
