The fourth extended play from Los Angeles, California emcee Hexxx has finally arrived. Marking a decade since his debut EP Samhain, the artist continues to build upon a catalog that includes the fan-favorite West Coast Wicked Shit series and his full-length projects Demon Season and Tales of a Cursed G. Following last summer’s Suerte EP, Endless Night serves as a compelling audio exploration of the artist’s current headspace.
The project opens with “Rock, Paper, Cemetery,” which sets a somber tone by examining the hereditary nature of his struggles. This is quickly followed by “Crash Out,” a track that leans into a trap-influenced aesthetic as the artist candidly discusses his attempts to drown out pain. After a brief interlude, “The Real” shifts the focus toward his commitment to independence and his appreciation for those who have remained loyal throughout his journey. The atmosphere then darkens, leading into the intense, driving energy of “Freight Train.”
The second half of the EP maintains this momentum. Following the “Ghost Dog” interlude, “Westside Samurai” reinforces his signature west coast wicked style, detailing the personal sacrifices required to achieve his current level of success. “Loco” brings a gritty, ratchet-inspired energy, while “Entrance Theme” offers a Memphis-inspired soundscape dedicated to his peers. The project concludes with “Friday,” a track that blends jazz influences with a west coast sensibility, serving as an ideal weekend anthem.
Despite the relatively short time since his last release, Hexxx spent much of 2025 away from the touring circuit to focus entirely on the creative process for Endless Night. The result is a project that stands as one of his most refined works to date. By weaving together jazz rap, ratchet, and Memphis-style production, he provides a versatile backdrop for his most pressing questions and reflections. It is a significant addition to his discography and a testament to his growth as a songwriter.
