Stockton, Calif., rapper EBK Jaaybo, born Jaymani Gorman, has officially entered a guilty plea to federal charges stemming from his 2025 arrest in Arkansas. The legal resolution, finalized on Thursday, June 4, marks a significant turning point in the artist’s ongoing legal battle.
According to court records, Jaaybo pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a machine gun and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. His codefendant, Xavier “Baby Maxx” Jones, also entered guilty pleas to the same charges. The plea agreement follows a high-profile arrest last May, during which law enforcement conducted a traffic stop and discovered an illegally modified Glock pistol, approximately five ounces of marijuana, and over $8,500 in cash.
Legal Context and Case Details
The initial indictment against the rapper was extensive, including charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, transportation of a firearm in interstate commerce while under indictment, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a machine gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. As part of the negotiated plea deal, these additional charges were dropped.
Further investigation into the seized firearm revealed a troubling connection: the weapon had been utilized two months prior in a nonfatal shooting involving Bay Area rapper DreamllifeRizzy, born Jarico Anderson. Reports from Mercury News indicate that the two artists were embroiled in a public rap feud, with DreamllifeRizzy allegedly affiliated with the San Francisco-based Double Rock gang and having released a track titled “EBK Killer” following the incident. That specific case remains ongoing.
Looking Ahead
While the plea agreement resolves the immediate federal charges, EBK Jaaybo awaits his official sentencing date. The conviction for the machine gun charge alone carries a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years. Representatives for the artist have been contacted for comment regarding the development.
