Former reality star and rapper Benzino was arrested earlier this month on multiple charges after being pulled over for speeding in Georgia. The incident occurred on June 9, as the artist was traveling through Crisp County.

According to a report from WALB News 10, an officer utilizing a laser speed detection device observed a silver SUV traveling at 91 MPH in a 70-MPH zone on Interstate 75. Upon being stopped, Benzino informed the officer that his driver’s license was suspended due to outstanding child support payments. However, a subsequent records check revealed that his license was actually suspended for multiple infractions.

The situation escalated when law enforcement reported the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Benzino reportedly admitted to possessing the substance and directed officers to a bag located in the driver’s side door. A second bag was discovered near his passenger, identified as Ruth Lewis. Both individuals were taken into custody and booked into the Crisp County Jail on drug-related charges. In addition to the drug possession counts, Benzino faces charges for speeding and driving with a suspended license.

Authorities noted that the SUV driven by Benzino did not belong to him, but was registered to an individual named Ashley Bell. Consequently, Bell has been charged with allowing an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle. Benzino has since been released on bond, and the Crisp County Sheriff’s Department has been contacted for further comment regarding the ongoing investigation.
