Devil’s Trident is a formidable supergroup consisting of Lyrikal Snuff Productionz founder Scum from Denver, Colorado, alongside Los Angeles horrorcore pioneer Insane Poetry and Albuquerque recording artist Smallz One. With a shared history spanning projects like M.M.M.F.D. and S.O.S., the trio’s eponymous debut arrives just in time for the LSP roster’s performance at the 26th annual Gathering of the Juggalos.
The album opens with “Hard Check,” a synth-driven boom-bap track that sets a defiant tone, followed by the G-funk-inspired “Bend the Knee.” The group leans heavily into their signature style on “Real Nice,” where they trade verses about their “Snuff” roots, while “Buried” reinforces their commitment to their fanbase and the Team Snuff collective.
As the project progresses, the rap-rock-tinged “We Are” finds the members proclaiming their status as sinners. The production remains diverse, shifting from the string-heavy “Omnicide” to the trap-influenced “Bad Seed.” The title track serves as a centerpiece, blending classic horrorcore lyricism with a modern G-funk aesthetic. The album concludes with “Fresh Meat,” featuring distinct percussion, the high-energy “It Could Be You,” and the sequel track “Killing Spree 2026,” which serves as a full-circle moment for the trio.
Given their previous introduction on M.M.M.F.D.’s Horrorcore album, this debut is a natural evolution for the Gore Hop imprint. It arrives during a massive weekend for the artists, coinciding with their involvement in the Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) events.
