In a rare and candid moment, Future is pulling back the curtain on his personal life. As the Atlanta rapper prepares for the July 10 release of his new album, The Real Me, he has opened up about his complex views on love, marriage, and the necessity of finding a partner who truly understands his reality.

In a video shared via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 1, the artist engaged in a thoughtful conversation about the motivations behind his latest musical project. When prompted by a companion about his feelings on love, Future was clear about his standards. “I love true love. I don’t want fake love,” he stated. “True love is like having another life. It’s like having another hit record. How many people can get that?”

Addressing the prospect of marriage, the rapper expressed a pragmatic yet hopeful outlook. He emphasized that he is not interested in a union for the sake of appearances, noting, “Do I want to get married to the wrong person? No. Do I want to be faithful to the wrong girl? No. Every man that marries the right woman, they progress. When you marry and that sh*t ain’t for sure, you lose.”

Perhaps most striking was his admission regarding the intersection of his lifestyle and his romantic life. Future argued that for him, true love requires a level of unconditional acceptance that transcends traditional boundaries. “If you see me out with a f**king girl holding her hand, she like, ‘N**ga I still love you. I love you when you holding another b*tch hand!'” he explained. “It ain’t right [but] that’s just unconditional love. I’m still who I am. It don’t matter what. You love me on who I am, [whether] I got temptations or not.”

This philosophy serves as the foundation for his upcoming work. According to the artist, The Real Me is an exercise in vulnerability and authenticity. “I’m at a point in my life I’m being the real me,” he shared. “You suffer because you can’t even show the people who you really are. That’s why I’m making this album, The Real Me. Because I want people to know this is the real me.”
