Pierre “P” Thomas, the influential co-founder of Quality Control Music, is currently hospitalized after reportedly suffering a heart attack at the age of 45. The music executive, who has been a central figure in the rise of modern Atlanta hip-hop, is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, reports emerged that P had been rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas following a sudden medical emergency. A representative for the executive confirmed his status in a statement provided to the press: “We want to clarify that Pierre ‘P’ Thomas is alive and currently hospitalized receiving medical care. We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time.” The statement further noted, “We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.”

Since co-founding Quality Control Music in 2013 alongside Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Thomas has been a driving force behind some of the most significant careers in contemporary music, including Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, and City Girls. His leadership helped the label secure a landmark $320 million deal with Hybe America in 2023, a partnership that expanded the company’s reach into sports management, film, and global branding.

Reflecting on the label’s journey in a 2023 interview, Thomas emphasized the resilience required to build his empire. “That we was a Black company that came in this business with a lot of doors closed on us,” he shared. “And we overcame a lot of adversity and developed some of the biggest superstars of our time.”
