YoungBoy Never Broke Again is back home in Utah after being released from prison and he now reportedly has armed guards patroling his mansion.

NBA YoungBoy Returns to Utah Home

On Wednesday (April 9), Utah news station KUTV confirmed the Louisiana rapper has returned home after spending nearly a year behind bars on federal gun charges. The return of YB to his Olympus Cove neighborhood has also brought the presence of armed security guards, according to his neighbors.

“I was stopped by two guys (Saturday) with bulletproof vests—security, dressed all in black—and one of them had an AK strapped to his chest,” YB’s neighbor Judy Zone told the news station. “It introduces this level of anxiety.”

Zone recounted meeting YB last year and described the rapper as “very kind.”

“He called me ma’am,” she says in the video below. “I told him I’d never listened to his music. He said, ‘I wouldn’t recommend it.'”

NBA YoungBoy Puts Legal Issues Behind Him

NBA YoungBoy was sentenced to 23 months in prison last December. He had been in a Utah jail since April of 2024 when he was arrested for prescription drug fraud and firearms offenses. He was reportedly freed on March 24 and spent two weeks in a halfway house before being released altogether. The rapper will be on five years of probation, during which he will have to take to six monthly drug and alcohol screenings, complete a mental health evaluation, a substance abuse evaluation and more.
