The legal matter stems from an incident in April 2025 in Milton, Ga., which has resulted in 14 separate charges against the artist, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal damage to property.
According to court filings submitted on July 31, the prosecution has turned over a substantial discovery package to the defense team representing the rap-crooner. This collection of evidence reportedly includes 1,900 photographs and 111 video files, marking a significant development in the pre-trial phase of the case.

The charges arise from an altercation that police claim occurred outside of Rod Wave’s residence. Authorities allege that the artist and an associate engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated, resulting in multiple shots being fired and several vehicles being struck. “There is no truth to these charges,” Findling stated. “Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
