Atlanta rap icon Young Thug has officially added the multi-talented producer and singer Yume to his YSL Records imprint. The move, which had been teased for several days, was solidified on Thursday, June 25, when Thugger shared a video on Instagram capturing the moment he gifted Yume her own custom, iced-out YSL chain.
“Caught her in the club. #ThankYouGod @yumeworldwide welcome,” Thug wrote in the caption, later adding a follow-up post of the two together with the message, “welcome to the family kid.”
The professional relationship between the two artists dates back to 2019, when Yume—then only 13 years old—produced the hit collaboration “Go Crazy” for Young Thug and Chris Brown. Since that early breakthrough, she has built an impressive resume, contributing production work for industry heavyweights such as Drake, Future, and Kid Cudi, before transitioning into a solo artist career.
Speculation regarding the signing began to circulate in May after Thug was spotted following Yume on social media following her performance at Rolling Loud, where she debuted a new collaboration with Cash Cobain. The rumors were eventually confirmed by Thug himself during an appearance on PlaqueBoy Max’s stream earlier this week. When asked by fans if the signing was official, he noted, “Is she signed? Close. Probably tonight or tomorrow.”
Yume now joins a diverse YSL roster that includes artists such as Strick, Yung Kayo, 1300Saint, Tezzus, and Diamond. Her addition comes at a busy time for the label head, who has also been vocal about his desire to recruit other talent, including a recent public pitch to sign Kodak Black following the rapper’s departure from Capitol Records.
