Children’s media personality Ms. Rachel has joined the growing wave of support for humanitarian efforts in Gaza, announcing on Thursday, September 17, that she will match Macklemore’s $1 million donation to Palestine. The educator utilized her Instagram platform to issue a challenge to other affluent public figures, urging them to utilize their resources and influence to address the ongoing crisis.

In her public statement, Ms. Rachel emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting, “I will match Macklemore’s donation and I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza.” She further highlighted the human cost of the conflict, stating, “Over 20,000 precious Palestinian children have been killed and children continue to be killed every day.”

Reflecting on her professional role and public reach, she added, “We have a moral obligation to use our privilege and platforms to protect children and human rights.”

This development follows a period of significant industry tension surrounding Macklemore, who was recently excluded from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour. The rapper’s removal was reportedly prompted by pressure from venue stakeholders, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, following Macklemore’s vocal stance on the conflict. The situation triggered a broader industry response, with several scheduled performers—including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga—withdrawing from the tour in solidarity with the rapper.

In response to the controversy, Macklemore revealed he would donate his $1 million in tour earnings to six humanitarian organizations. He subsequently challenged Robert Kraft to provide a matching contribution. Kraft, while confirming he was already coordinating a $2 million donation with Ed Sheeran to support regional humanitarian efforts, addressed the situation through a statement on the Gillette Stadium Instagram account.

“I have dedicated much of my life to building bridges between all people. I believe deeply that all lives are worth protecting,” Kraft wrote. “Earlier today, before Macklemore challenged me to match his donation, Ed called me and asked me to commit $2 million to match his donation to aid in the region to fight this humanitarian crisis. Ed now plans to reach out to other venue owners and our goal is to continue to work together to build bridges.”

Despite this acknowledgment, specific details regarding the organizations selected for Kraft’s donation remain undisclosed.
