San Antonio-based rapper and Shrunken Head Entertainment founder Razakel has returned with her fifth extended play, The Possession of Razakel. A veteran of the underground scene, Razakel is widely recognized for her work with The Slice Girls, The Dead Girlz, and 3FRMHELL, as well as her tenure with The Serpentines. Following a successful collaboration on her 2025 full-length album Surprise, Surprise!, she has reunited with Grand Rapids producer and Dirtcore Music founder Crossworm for this focused, high-impact project.

The EP opens with “Sum1 Like U,” a track that utilizes an industrial boom-bap aesthetic to dissect the nature of disingenuous individuals. Razakel’s lyrical precision remains sharp as she navigates the complexities of social dynamics. The momentum continues with “Funeral,” which leans heavily into an industrial soundscape. Here, the artist delivers a cold, calculated warning to her detractors, suggesting they begin planning their own memorials in the face of her relentless approach.
The project concludes with “Slasher,” a track that effectively bridges the gap between traditional horrorcore lyricism and modern EDM-infused production. It is a bold stylistic choice that highlights the versatility of both the artist and the producer.
Come to think of it: Pretty much everyone on the current Dirtcore roster has already put out new music on the label over the course of these past 4 years, so I can get on board with Crossworm’s idea of reaching out to other artists in the underground & do a brief takeover of sorts.
Crossworm’s decision to curate a series of collaborations across the underground scene has proven to be a strategic success. The Possession of Razakel stands as a testament to this vision, offering a concentrated 10-minute experience that arguably features some of the most refined material of Razakel’s career. By sharpening her pen over these industrial-leaning beats, she reaffirms her status as a formidable force in the genre.
