Sacramento, California emcee and producer Mi$tuh G has been a consistent force in the underground scene since the release of his debut full-length, G Files. Following his introduction to many listeners during the 2020 pandemic with G.W.O. (G-World Order), he has continued to evolve his sound through collaborative efforts like Your Worst Nightmare with Mak7teen and his 2024 project Keep It G. Now, he returns with his latest EP, Bird’s Eye View, a project that offers a clear, elevated perspective on his journey thus far.
The EP opens with the titular intro, leading directly into “Thought It Was Over,” a track defined by a nervous, high-energy instrumental that finds the artist shutting down opposition. This momentum carries into “Hatin’ on My Name,” where he addresses his detractors with sharp, defensive lyricism. The project shifts gears with “Go,” featuring Rayven Justice, before settling into the strip club-ready atmosphere of “B.T.A. (Bounce That Ass),” which rounds out the first half of the project.
The second half of the EP showcases Mi$tuh G’s production prowess, particularly on the standout track “Krown Me King.” Here, he asserts his dominance and commitment to his craft. “The 7th Letter” reinforces this theme of leadership, while “Kold as Me” serves as a lyrical flex, asserting his untouchable status within his city. The project concludes with “Family 1st,” a collaborative effort featuring Illa Jay and Mak7teen that highlights the importance of rising above adversity together.
At its core, Bird’s Eye View is a reflection of the artist’s recent experiences with broken loyalties and the isolation that often accompanies success.
